Holiday / winter Bucket List ~ blogmas day 2

Bucket list in progress.

Hey ya’ll! I know that I haven’t written a blogpost in a hot minute, and I also know that shooting for blogmas during my semester exams without pre-writing posts was a bad idea, and I also know that Christmas is in 3 days. However, I had so many fun ideas, that I decided to write them and post them over these 4 days.

Today I want to give ya’ll a winter/holiday bucket list which is essentially just fun stuff you can do this “winter/holiday” season.

1. Holiday Movie Marathon

I think that having a hot cup of cocoa, a warm blanket, the fireplace running, and a Christmas movie is the perfect way to set the mood. I would love to re-watch elf, polar express, and home alone this year.

2. Secret Santa

I love secret Santa so much, I try to do it every year with my friends, but because of COVID, we thought that it might not be that safe. However, I think that if you have a big family or even if its just 4 people you could totally do Secret Santa! And if you want it to be more personal and potentially less expensive you could totally do a DIY secret Santa.

3. Deck the halls

I find it so much fun to decorate for the holidays, I don’t usually do much other than a tree, but this year we decorated the mantle as well. Honestly, the holiday season is a vibe. We decorated our tree with Christmas music and fuzzy socks on and it was so much fun. Just decorating can be such a fun activity.

4. Seasonal Starbucks

I love going to Starbucks and trying out new drinks, and I’m especially excited because they have so many festive drinks this year. I’m really excited to try out the caramel brûlée blended frappe blended, the toasted white chocolate mocha frappe blended, and I’m pretty sure there was an eggnog drink.

5. Rate holiday decor

Last year, me and my friend walked around our neighborhood and rated the houses based on their holiday decor. It’s so random, but actually pretty fun! Its also a good way to get some fresh air and move your body.

6. Go ice skating

I know that a lot of ice skating rinks are only allowing a certain amount of people on the rink at a time to minimize interaction, and they also make you wear a mask, so to me that seems quite safe. I love ice skating and we like to go every year.

7. Make Hot chocolate bombs

These have recently blow up, its essentially hot cocoa mix and marshmallows inside a chocolate sphere. Then, you place it in a mug and pour hot milk over it to make hot chocolate. This sounds like such a fun experience, and I am definitely doing this soon! This would also be a great gift for somebody. I heard a story about people buying these an thinking they were bath bombs. They said “This was a great bath bomb, but it made my tub sticky and it clogged my drain”. Here’s a disclaimer, this bomb is for mugs, not tubs.

8. Set New Years Resolutions

2021 is the perfect year to start new habits an get into a routine. Some ideas are to workout every day, drink a whole water bottle every day, limit yourself to 1 hour of screen time per day. Look for ways to improve yourself, and become the best version of yourself. Something that I want to start doing is Law of Attraction, its about visualizing your best life. There are a lot of techniques so if you want to look into it I highly recommend Sadie Aldis’ LOA videos. However, you don’t need to procrastinate till next year to start on your goals, make your goals and work towards them during these last weeks of December.

9. Make a gingerbread house

This is such a fun idea, and there are so many variations to it. You can buy a pre-made gingerbread house, or you can make it from scratch. Ive also seen some different favors like Oreo, and you can literally decorate it with anything! You could even do a competition with friends and family for best decorated!

10. Pay it forward

Doing random acts of kindness and donating makes you feel so good and it helps others. It can be as simple as donating some clothes, putting sticky notes on peoples cars that say motivational quotes, or paying for the person behind you in a drive thru. I also just realized that Sadie Aldis also has a video where she pays it forward, so you can check that out if you want to.

11. Send your friends and relatives something sweet

Another fun idea is to bake or DIY something and give it to a friend or family member, you could stick it in their mailbox or mail it to them. You could even add a few extra things and make it a care package!

12. Read a Christmas book

If your New years resolution is to read books, then get a jumpstart on it and read some fun Christmas books. I know that a lot of libraries quarantine their books and sanitize their covers, but if you don’t feel safe doing that then you could order a book instead.

13. Drive-thru holiday display

A lot of places are setting up holiday light displays where you just sit in your car and drive through the scene. This sounds like a super fun and safe way to enjoy this season. I love that people are still finding ways to make the most of this year.

Lets be honest, we are all done with 2020. Im so ready for a fresh start, but lets end this year in the best way possible. I hope you have a fun and safe holiday season!
