Making THE Dalgona Whipped Coffee for The 1st Time ☕️

Please excuse my long nails, I lost my nail clipper.

Hey ya’ll! A while back I hopped on the trend and tried THE Dalgona Whipped Coffee. I’ve heard about this from my friends, from TikTok, from Pinterest, and from YouTube, so I finally tried it out and I wanted to let you know how it was and how I made it incase you wanted to try it!

(Also if you have been getting emails about me posting a blogpost that doesn’t appear on my site, it’s because I keep accidentally posting my drafts 🤦‍♀️. However, those are posts that will be coming to you in the near future 🤗.)

Also all photos are my own original work, and I work hard to take these so it would be appreciated if you don’t use these for non personal purposes without credit. If you do use my photos please link my website and contact me before hand and also do not copy and paste my content somewhere else, however you can leave a link to my blog.

What you’ll need

  • Instant coffee
  • Water
  • Milk
  • Ice
  • Sugar
  • A whisk or electric hand-held mixer

Directions

  1. Put equal parts of instant coffee and water into a bowl and how much sugar you think you’ll want (I did 1 tablespoon coffee, 1 tablespoon water, and a tablespoon of sugar).
  2. Start whisking it together, you should mix till soft peaks form. (I whisked by hand and it took me about 10 minutes) The way you can tell if you have soft peaks is by turning your mixing utensil upside down and the peaks should hold their shape and then curl back into themselves.
This is what my soft peaks looked like.

3. Next fill a cup about 3/4 of the way with milk and ice.

4. Then dollop your whipped coffee into your cup and voila, Dalgona Whipped Coffee!

If you want to feel super extra, then you can use a metal straw and stir it to hear the clink of the ice cubes and the straw 😍.

My review

Overall I think it was pretty good. I think that if you are a coffee lover, you should definitely try this. It had a very prominent coffee taste and I had to add some more sugar in, but I don’t love strong coffee, so yeah. I think that its a really aesthetic drink for photos, but probably isn’t my favorite coffee drink. It was a very interesting texture though, and it was fun to make. My final word would be if you like coffee you should definitely try it, because my mom tried it and she really liked it. However, if you don’t like coffee that much, then add a bit more sugar, stir, and just enjoy the experience!

I hope you enjoyed this blogpost! If you try out this drink tell me in the comments if you loved it ❤️ or if you thought it was okay 👌. Sending hugs through the screen, bye!

P.S. Did you know that the Dalgona Whipped Coffee originated in Korea?
