Bucket list, Fall, Things to do in quarantine

Fall Bucket List 2020 🍂

Happy Fall y’all! I know the beginning of fall was actually in September, but to me fall really starts in October. And it finally started to cool down where I live and it feels so close to Halloween! This year I’m really excited for Fall, because now I have a list of things I want to do and just looking at these makes me excited and I hope they make you feel that way too!

Also all photos are my own original work, and I work hard to take these so it would be appreciated if you don’t use these for non personal purposes without credit. If you do use my photos please link my website and contact me before hand and also do not copy and paste my content somewhere else, however you can leave a link to my blog.

1. Get a pumpkin

This is me picking my pumpkin! I haven’t decided what to do with it yet, but I’m excited!

I feel like there are so many things you can do with a pumpkin! You can carve it and roast the seeds, you can bake with it, you can have paint it, and picking pumpkins can also be a fun fall activity. Some pumpkin patches are still open during quarantine, but if there’s not one near you, then Kroger, Tom Thumb, and Sprouts usually have pumpkins out front or inside the store! (And I just realized that there isn’t a pumpkin emoji 😦, wait here it is 🎃)

2. Go to a pumpkin patch or apple orchard

This kind of goes along with the first one, but some pumpkin patches have games and other activities that you can participate in while being social distanced, or they limit the amount of people who can enter the pumpkin patch. Picking apples is something that I haven’t done yet, but I’d love to try! With these apples you can bake so many things, to include apple pie 😋. Both of these are also a really good photo op.

3. Make a chunky knit blanket

These blankets are all over Pinterest and there are so many ways to DIY them! The blankets are usually a bit pricey, but DIY-ing them lowers the price by a lot. It’s also adds a handmade piece to your home! I’ve been wanting to make one of these since forever, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. I feel like these just add the extra sprinkle of cinnamon (see what I did there?) to the cozy feeling of fall!

4. Wear fuzzy socks

I feel like during the summer I always felt like wearing my fuzzy socks, but it was always WAY too hot for it. However, it actually got pretty chilly where I live and I’ve been wearing them constantly now! These keep your feet cute, cozy, and warm! 🧦

5. Bake pumpkin pie

The pumpkin I got from the pumpkin patch will probably be used for decor purposes, but I also got a pumpkin from Sprouts and I plan to make pumpkin pie 🥧 with it! I’ve actually never made pumpkin pie, so I look forward to making (and snacking) this! I have a distant memory of something that had a sweet pumpkin taste to it, and I think it might be pumpkin pie, but I’m not sure, but I decided that I may as well bake some pumpkin pie! (I’ve had my pumpkin for a while though, so I hope it’s not expired 😬) I feel like even baking an apple pie would be fall-ish, honestly baking any pie would be fall-ish to me!

6. Try a fall Starbucks drink

I’ve heard about so much about the Fall theme Starbucks drinks, like the Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte and the Pumpkin Spice Creme blended Frappe. I haven’t gotten to try either yet, but I would like to. However I don’t get caffeinated drinks often, so I may just get a hot chocolate, which is still a fall drink to me!

7. Sweater Weather

I’m so excited to finally wear my favorite sweaters, cardigans, and boots 👢 this fall! I don’t really go out as much (due to quarantine), but I’ll wear them any chance I get!

8. Candles

Lighting or buying a fall scented candle 🕯 is something that everyone seems to do, and most people head to target or bath and body works to get their candles for fall. I think that lighting a candle set’s the mood and scent for the fall season and I’ll definitely be lighting my candle more often.

9. Go to bath and body works

As I was saying in the previous one, a lot of people go to bath and body works to get their candles. However, some people also get fall scented sanitizer, lotions, soaps, and more! I love that this one finds a way to incorporate fall scents into your everyday life, and going to bath and body works is always so much fun for me! 🛍

10. Make cookies

This one can really be done anytime of the year, but I decided to add this one in anyways. Since this is also the season to be thankful, you could bake cookies 🍪 and give them to your friends and relatives! It’s a fun (and delicious) way to show people you care, and you get to bake a fun treat while your at it!

11. Decorate for fall

You don’t have to decorate every single room in your home super elaborately, instead you can incorporate small things around the house so you can feel a little bit of fall in the whole home. For example a candle, pumpkin, fairy lights, blankets, art or sign could be all a room needs! Or you could decorate the front of your house, I have decorations from previous years, that I will mostly likely use again!

12. Change your wallpaper

If you have some type of electronic device (which you probably do, since you are reading this right now) then you can switch the wallpaper to a fall themed one. And if you have an Apple phone, then you can change the icons on your apps to fall theme images using the shortcuts app! I actually made a wallpaper for my phone 📱 on the first day I wore a sweater this fall season ⬇️

Feel free to use it, but if you do end up using it for non-personal reasons then please leave a link to my blog and contact me (in the comments) before hand.

13. Make caramel apples

There are so many variations to this fall treat and so many possibilities to a ripe, juicy, green apple, dipped in creamy, sticky, golden brown caramel, topped with practically anything you choose! I even saw something on Pinterest that was like a caramel apple buffet, and I saw another one that was like small apple pieces on a stick, and then YOU get to dip it in caramel and toppings!

14. DIY your Halloween costume

This is such a fun way to use your crafty skills and potentially save money! Either way it’s so much fun to DIY your costume, and its even more fun to do it with friends. This year me and my friend are going as Starbucks drinks, so how it’ll work because of COVID is that we both make our costumes at home, and then we just walk around with our other friends (socially distanced) on Halloween. I most likely won’t get candy from other people (other than maybe my friends), so I plan to fill my basket with candy and eat some along the way!

15. Boo somebody

In lot of neighborhood’s they do this thing called boo-ing someone or getting boo-ed (including mine). Boo-ing someone is basically when you give someone (usually a friend) a basket of Halloween goodies like candy, fuzzy socks, etc. You would typically ring the doorbell, leave the basket, and run! And you also include a sign that says you’ve been boo-ed, so that they can put it on their door, so people know that they’ve already been boo-ed! I’m not sure if this will work as well due to COVID, but you could probably wear gloves and sanitize to be safe!

16. Jump in a pile of leaves

Kill 2 birds with one stone (without actually killing any birds) and rake your front lawn. After you rake it you can jump in it! You know what now that I say that, maybe just use your feet or hands to make the pile and then after you jump in it actually rake it, that way you don’t have to rake twice.

17. Follow someone else’s routine

Me and my friends did this all the time over the phone during the summer. How it works is every day or week you pick someone from like YouTube and you follow their morning routine/night routine! This is really fun to try something new and some you tubers post cozy, fall morning routines, so this would be fun to do!

18. Go to a drive through event

I know that where I live there have been some drive thru haunted houses at like airports and such and that seems pretty cool to me! It’s so fun how people are turning like everything into a COVID safe event.

19. Make some fall art

This can be such a fun activity and when your done, you can hang up your art as fall decor! This is practically free, since you probably have some type of art supplies at home, be it crayons, markers, or paint!

20. Make a fall mood board

This can really spark some inspiration for this season. Just find some inspiring, aesthetically pleasing photos and print them out. After that either make a photo wall or put them in your bulletin board, or somewhere that you will see it, that way every time you walk past it, you’ll feel fall vibes. If you don’t have a printer then another great idea is to make the mood board on like “Picollage” and set it as your wallpaper!

21. Build a fort

Me and my family did this all the time together and we’ve made some super fun forts in the past. I feel like this would be such a fun place to hang out, read, watch something and just have fun in general! You could add fairy lights and pillows and fall decorations if you really want to stick with a fall theme! And it’s just such a fun way to spend time with your family.

22. Take a drive or walk

In some places right now they have gorgeous fall colors and if so, you should take advantage of that and get a smell of fresh, crisp fall air and look at some gorgeous fall foliage. If you don’t have any nearby, consider taking a small “road trip” to spend some time in nature and if not, just stepping outside for a jog or walk would be a great alternative. The air is so cool, and crisp during this time of year and where I live right now it’s not too cold or too hot and I’m taking advantage of it.

23. Paint your nails

I’ve been trying to grow out my nails a bit, so that that make a satisfying noise when they touch a surface if you know what I mean. You don’t have to do a super complicated design, just something that gives you fall vibes will do! On this note, having a pamper night (or day) could be super fun!

And that’s my bucket list for Fall 2020, I hope you are excited for fall and all the fun things that come with it! Comment down below which ones on this list you have done or which ones you plan to do, and remember that you don’t need to put it any information to comment (It’s optional). See you next time!
